This week we take a look at Love Simon, the film Alonso Duralde and special guest Grace Baldridge want you to see multiple times so studios will continue making coming of age teen films that feature gay romantic leads. Taking a page from the film’s anonymous correspondence between “Jacque” and “Blue”, each of our panelists write their own anonymous notes and we learn some FASCINATING truths. To wit, Neil was with Oprah Winfrey the night Michael Jackson died. Lars McPatchett used to eat butter out of a container with a spoon as a kid. Zippo lettered in three sports in high school, and two of Saint John’s greatest fears are escalators and horses. Think you can figure out who each panelist’s alias is? You’ll have to listen to find out.

We've got a very special episode this week as Alonso Duralde takes over hosting duties. He's joined by film critic for Tribune News Service and the LA Times, Katie Walsh, Vidiots Executive Director/Board Chair, Maggie Mackay, and our dear friend, producer and film festival programmer, Drea Clark. They break down the much discussed A Wrinkle in Time. They address the blowback the film has received, what they really liked about it, and the revolutionary nature of having a protagonist that is a woman of color. They also discuss kids movies in general and some of their favorites. In fact, a fight nearly breaks out over whether The NeverEnding Story is actually a good movie. PLUS, April Wolfe calls in from South by Southwest to give everyone an update.

This episode marks the return of the "Professional Contrarian" Inkoo Kang to talk about the new dark, action comedy Game Night. Before they get into the discussion of the film, the crew takes time to dissect this year's Oscars. They point out some of the sweeter moments (Greta Gerwig and Laura Dern, James Ivory's shirt) but all agree there's still work to be done. In discussing Game Night they break down the dark comedy genre and reveal some of their favorites. April professes her love for Todd Solondz, Inkoo sees "competent" as high praise, Alonso gives a shout to Pedro Almodovar, and Ricky inadvertently creates a mash up movie - 'One Flew Over the Vampire's Nest.' PLUS, the gang finishes up by copying Game Night and playing a round of CELEBRITY.

Like the Jetsons meet the Flintstones, we've got a crossover episode! Our friends, film critic Dave White and digital strategist Wynter Mitchell, from fellow Max Fun show, Pop Rocket, join April and Ricky to discuss all things Black Panther. The gang starts by discussing the wonderful attributes of the film itself; from Ryan Coogler formulating a personal Marvel film to the casting and costuming. Then the conversation moves on to the effects this film has had on society and black people everywhere. The crew touches upon the power and importance of seeing themselves represented on screen. Plus, they also discuss who is the hottest character in the film (Dave White took a "poll of the gays" so this is a scientific study).

Turn on the air conditioning because it's getting hot in here! The gang is joined, once again, by "kid sister" Drea Clark to talk about 50 Shades Freed. They talk the good, the bad, and the boring of the film. Drea dreams of getting a quote on the 50 Shades Freed DVD cover, April cites some issues that a gynecologist would have with the film, and Alonso points out the enjoyment of watching it as "luxury porn." PLUS the crew has an in depth conversation about the use of sex in cinema. Ricky has some great suggestions because he sure did his homework. Light some candles and turn the lights down low, because you're gonna wanna to set the mood to listen to this episode.

In news, Christopher Nolan's kids won't stop calling him "Woodcock", Ava Duvernay and Mayor Eric Garcetti launch an LA diversity initiative, Doug Jones (The Shape of Water) doesn't love that they made a "Fish Man" dildo, and working with Jim Carrey caused makeup artist Kazuhiro Tsuji to go to therapy.

Things are getting spooky this week as the gang discusses the new Helen Mirren haunted house joint, Winchester. The three hosts all had VERY different theater going experiences; some good, some bad. Alonso stans for the limited time McDonald's burger, the Grand Mac. April recommends a book of poetry. And Ricky gets some Helen Mirren movie recs so he can better praise his "Dame piece." Plus, the crew tries out a new show - "Haunted House Hunters" where Alonso and April pitch haunted houses to the prospective buyer Ricky. Which house of the damned will he choose?

In news, Uma Thurman was pressured into driving a stunt car, Guillermo Del Toro is accused of plagiarism, and Jordan Peele was offered the part of 'Poop Emoji.'

We're doing things a little differently this week. Instead of seeing a movie in theaters, we let Ricky pick one. And to the chagrin of many, he chose the Wachowski's three hour long epic, Cloud Atlas. After first complaining about the length, Alonso and April then discuss the merits and aspirations of the polarizing film. And don't worry, they do talk about all the prosthetics and makeup (there are A LOT of fake noses in this movie). Dovetailing with that conversation, the gang discusses the movies they love...but everyone else hates. You may be surprised by the terrible movies these professional film critics like! You'll never guess who likes Dragonball Evolution.

In news, Helen Mirren is sad about Star Wars, Richard Roeper buys Twitter followers, LilRel Howery gets an invite to the Oscars, and work has begun on a Passion of the Christ sequel.

Strike a pose, people. We're talking fashion in film and Daniel Day-Lewis' "final" performance in, Phantom Thread. Regular contributor and friend of the show, Drea Clark, joins the crew as they discuss their personal movie fashion icons. One of April's is Woody Harrelson from White Men Can't Jump, obviously. The gang also plays the Sundance game; Alonso names 3 real Sundance movies and 1 fake title and each person guesses which one is the fake. Hint: Color of a Brisk and Leaping Day is actually a real movie. In this episode you can also hear Alonso quote the Diana Ross film Mahogany when he tells everyone to "Flash that baby grand you call a smile!" Check it out now!

In news, The Oscar nominations have been announced, Tom Hardy's rap album is leaked, and Hispanic actors want to protest the Oscars.
